GOZO’s Tech Whiz Summer School

​

After the success of The Tech Whiz Summer School in 2024, The Tech Whiz Summer School 2025 is set to launch in July with an innovative programme aimed at children aged 6 to 12 years. Designed to foster creative abilities in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation, this initiative is essential for preparing young minds for future career pathways across various sectors.

Programme Structure

​

The summer school runs for six weeks, from 15th July 2025 to 29th August 2025, excluding the week starting 11th August 2025. Applicants are divided into three age groups: 6-8, 9-10, and 11-12, ensuring that the curriculum is tailored to the developmental stage of each child. The programme consists of 12 contact hours spread over six weeks, with two-hour sessions each week.

EXPLORE THE COURSES

The Tech Whiz Summer School covers four key topics designed to inspire and educate the future innovators of tomorrow:

  1. Robotics (4 hours): This module introduces children to the basics of robotics, teaching them how to build and program simple robots. It fosters problem-solving skills and logical thinking, providing a hands-on approach to learning.

  2. Coding (4 hours): In this segment, kids learn the fundamentals of coding. By engaging in interactive and fun coding activities, they develop a solid foundation in programming concepts that are crucial in the digital age.

  3. Artificial Intelligence (2 hours): This part of the programme offers an introduction to AI, explaining how it works and its applications. Children gain insights into the technology shaping the future, sparking their interest in this cutting-edge field.

  4. YouTube/Video Production (2 hours): This session teaches children the basics of video production, from planning and production to filming and editing. It encourages creativity and helps them understand the power of digital media.

The Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA) is the primary authority dedicated to promoting governmental policies that positions Malta as a centre of excellence for technological innovation. 

 

In addition to our regulatory and promotional roles, MDIA is proud to offer a specialised Youth Programme. This summer school is designed for children aged 6 to 12 years, aiming to nurture their creative abilities in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation.

 

The programme is structured to cater to three age groups: 6-8, 9-10, and 11-12, depending on the number of participants. Through this initiative, kids are equipped with essential skills in AI and digital innovation, providing a strong foundation for future educational and career opportunities. Students who complete the summer school will gain a comprehensive understanding of these critical fields, preparing them for further education at the secondary, postsecondary, and tertiary levels.
