Terms and Conditions of Summer School

Non Refundable Payment

All course fees are non-refundable, whether in whole or in part, once payment has been made. This applies regardless of attendance or withdrawal from the course.

Attendance and Timeliness

Parents or legal guardians are responsible for ensuring that children are brought to class on time and collected promptly at the end of each session. Repeated late collection may result in the child being withdrawn from the course.

Parental Consent

Only children whose parents or legal guardians have submitted a signed parental consent form will be permitted to attend the course.

Fixed Schedule

Switching between class dates or times is strictly not permitted. Each class is planned according to capacity limits, and no alternative spaces can be guaranteed.

Certificate of Attendance

Children who attend at least 70% of scheduled sessions will be eligible for a Certificate of Attendance at the end of the programme. Absences due to illness will be excused upon presentation of a valid medical note.

Classroom Access

Parents or guardians are not permitted to remain in the classroom during sessions unless this has been pre-authorised in writing due to certified medical or support needs of the child.

Age Group Policy

Children are assigned to classes based on their age group. Switching between age groups is not permitted, as course content is designed to be developmentally appropriate.

Code of Conduct

Children are expected to behave respectfully towards staff and peers. Any form of disruptive, aggressive, or inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from the programme without refund.

Health and Safety

Parents are responsible for informing the organisers of any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs upon registration. The organisers reserve the right to determine whether the course is suitable given the child's needs.

Personal Belongings

The organisers are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal items brought to class. Children are advised not to bring valuables to the sessions.

Photography and Media Consent

Photographs or videos may be taken during the course for promotional or educational purposes. Parents who do not wish for their child to appear in such media must indicate this in the consent form.

Benefits of the Programme >

The Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA) is the primary authority dedicated to promoting governmental policies that positions Malta as a centre of excellence for technological innovation.

In addition to our regulatory and promotional roles, MDIA is proud to offer a specialised Youth Programme. This summer school is designed for children aged 6 to 12 years, aiming to nurture their creative abilities in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation.

The programme is structured to cater to three age groups: 6-8, 9-10, and 11-12, depending on the number of participants. Through this initiative, kids are equipped with essential skills in AI and digital innovation, providing a strong foundation for future educational and career opportunities. Students who complete the summer school will gain a comprehensive understanding of these critical fields, preparing them for further education at the secondary, postsecondary, and tertiary levels.
